North Richland Hills

Linda Raenell Birmingham passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in North Richland Hills, Texas. She was born on November 8, 1945, to Sherman Overstreet and Margie Bills Overstreet, and was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where she spent much of her early life before later making her home in the Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas area.

Linda graduated from Fletcher High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and went on to earn an associate degree in Administration. Throughout her professional life she served faithfully in a variety of roles, including as a secretary at Shady Grove Christian Academy and at Nippon Oil in Las Colinas, Texas. In her later years, she found joy and purpose working as a companion for the elderly and as a gardener, sharing her caring spirit with those around her.

Above all, Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her former husband and lifelong friend, Vincent Cangemi; her daughters, Michelle “Shelly” Cangemi and Carlita Griffith and husband Gene; her beloved grandchildren, Jordan Fuller, Amber Griffith, and Brianna Woolery and husband Jacob; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Brixtyn, Maddyn, and Marlee. Family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in each of them.

Linda lived a life rich with creativity and faith. She loved to play the piano and sing, and she expressed her artistic talents through watercolor and acrylic painting. She enjoyed making beautiful handmade jewelry, which she lovingly gifted to friends and family. A true master gardener, Linda found peace and happiness working with plants and nurturing nature.

Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life. Linda was an active member of her church community at Gateway Church in Plano, TX where she formed many cherished friendships. She loved reading her Bible and led Bible study at her apartment complex, encouraging and uplifting those around her.

Linda had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved. She delighted in hosting gatherings, from game nights to her signature hat parties. She loved the beach and the ocean, and some of her happiest memories were made traveling and sailing, including adventures through the Greek and Virgin Islands.

Linda will be remembered for her generous heart, her joyful spirit, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. Her light touched many lives and will continue to live on in all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda’s memory to ocean or beach conservation efforts or to organizations dedicated to planting trees and preserving the beauty of nature she loved so much.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
