Leoti Stiles Bennett

Leoti Stiles Bennett passed away on February 8, 2026, in Grapevine, Texas. She was born in Santa Cruz, California on December 9, 1931, to the late John Stiles Sr. and Irene Clark Stiles. She grew up in a large, close family whose bonds shaped her outlook and remained a central part of her life.

Leoti was a long time member of First Christian Church of Victoria, Texas. In 1958, she married James W. (Jim) Bennett Sr. Together, they raised their family and built a life filled with shared history and determination. She possessed a vibrant personality that carried her through life’s seasons.

Family was always at the heart of who she was. Leoti is lovingly remembered by her children: John L. Bennett (Robin); James W. Bennett Jr.; Rev. Stephen Bennett (Lloy); Benjamin S. Bennett; and Leoti A. Bennett.

Leoti was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her son, Thomas W. Bennett; her parents; two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and an extended family of nieces and nephews who will remember her with affection — for her humor, her resilience, and the unmistakable way she connected with each generation.

A memorial service celebrating her life is planned at Lucas Funeral Home chapel in Grapevine on Saturday, February 14 at 2PM with her son, Rev. Stephen Bennett, officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date in Victoria, Texas.
