Larry James Crownover resident Burleson, Texas formerly of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on October 27, 2025 at his home at the age of 78 years. Larry was born on January 26,1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to JC Crownover and Evelyn Wood. 

He spent his early life in Ft. Worth; ages 7 thru 12 in Lena Pope Home where his mother worked. Before her marriage to Thomas Jefferson Smith. He attended SS Dillow grade school, William James Jr. High, Polytechnic High School and one year in college in Ft Worth. He was employed throughout his life by multiple companies such as Volkswagen, Pennzoil, Spinks Enterprises, Fared Robot Systems, Southern Electronics and Metro Automation doing everything from truck driving to dispatch. He retired on Disability in 2004 following a stroke at age 57. Larry lived in Aurora, Colorado and Los Angeles, California before settling back in the Texas cities of Fort Worth, Weatherford and recently Burleson.

Larry loved dogs and had many throughout his life, most recently a rescue, Max. He had a love for speed, racing, motocross as well as a love of trucks and vintage cars: most beloved his 56Chevy and 66Mustang. He joined the Parker County Cruisers and attended car shows and rode in their parades. He had a passion for music and learned to play drums in early adulthood. As a youngster, daughter, Jessica would listen to rehearsals and helped him set up for shows. He belonged in several bands including Bitter Sweet, Hard Times, Southern Thunder, Canyon Creek, Texas Fever and Pale Riders. After his stroke he was unable to play, but continued to purchase and rebuild drums, many of which are now owned by family members.

Larry and Jackie purchased a cabin on the Brazos River where they spent many happy weekends. They attended Wood family reunions in Glenrose, Tx and took many trips to Roths Reunions in Colorado, and trips to or with family in New Orleans, LA, and Kansas City, Kansas.

He loved watching football and became a Panthers fan (because he liked the uniforms). He spent time on his computer shopping on eBay or researching the lives of well-known people who had passed. He spent time with the grandkids, mostly when they were very young, and they all knew him as "Grumpy".

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelin (Jackie) Crownover of 35 years and his former wife, Cherie Collet; daughter, Jessica Gilmore and her husband, Bryan and their daughter, Isabella; stepchildren Nicole Whiteside and husband Bill, Will Walker and wife Kristen, Matt Walker and wife Katie; step grandchildren Hayden Whiteside and Cat Cornelius, Mallory Whiteside, Nathan and Gloria Walker, Owen Walker, Nolan Walker and fiancée Emma Boyd, Grace Walker, Evi Walker, Annalynn Walker and Eli McMillan; great-grandson Miles McMillan; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Wood Tidwell; stepfather Thomas Jefferson Smith; sister Sandra Pounders; brother Daniel Crownover; and stepdaughter Kirsten Walker Philp.

He will be buried in Tolar Cemetery next to his mother and step-father.
