Kenneth Dale Bond, resident of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Monahans, Texas, passed away on January 20, 2024 at Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Burleson at the age of 80 years.
Kenneth was born June 17, 1943 in Gorman, Texas. He moved to Monahans with his family in 1948 where he resided until August of 2021, when he moved to Burleson, Texas.
He had an ongoing love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys and was a fan from their inception in 1960. In later years, he became more interested in college football and was a fan of the TCU Horned Frogs. He was also a life-long fan of his hometown Monahans Loboes football team.
He loved all things history-related and his memory of events was amazing.
He loved animals and always had cats and dogs.
Kenneth was a member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Monahans, Texas.
He is survived by three sisters: Edith Brooks of Monahans, Nelda Bond of Burleson, and Lynda Notgrass and husband, Dennis of Granbury; 2 nieces and 4 nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and also great-great nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by one uncle, Lee Maxwell of Eastland and several cousins.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, L.D. Bond; mother, Faye Maxwell Bond; and Brother-in-law, Tommy Brooks.
A memorial service is planned for February 10, 2024, at 10 am at the Cornerstone Pentecostal Church, 2408 Stockton, Monahans, Texas.
The family would like to express our gratitude to the nursing staff at Advanced Rehabilitation and Healthcare of Burleson for their kindness and compassionate care for Kenneth during his time at the facility. We would also like to thank Samantha Kemper, Brandon Kemper and other staff members with MaxServe Hospice who cared for Kenneth in his final days.
