Kay Dawn Wallace

February 7, 1935 — April 22, 2026

With joy and sorrow, the family of Kay Dawn Wallace celebrate a live well-lived. Kay was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 7th,1935, and passed into the arms of her Saviour on April 22, 2026. She was 91.

Kay was 11 years old when her family relocated to Oak Cliff, Tx. Kay graduated from Sunset High School in 1953. In 1957, Kay turned 23 and was introduced to 25-year-old Cecil Wallace who was fresh out of the army. He was looking for a new start and found not just a place but also his future at a revival meeting. They were married on June 27th ,1958.

Kay and Cecil had a solid marriage with God’s help that lasted the test of time. Their marriage was born of love but thrived because of commitment. They had 3 children, Mark Melodie and Rachel. Life was full, loud and fun. Family vacations were a special treat every summer. Nature was always the theme, living in a tent or trailer, cooking on a camp stove, swimming in the lake, hiking and some touring of local attractions.

Cecil & Kay were always part of a dynamic church family as their faith in God was the foundation of their lives. Kay was active in church ministry and in the 1970’s Kay stepped out in faith and became active in ministries in the community. Kay was obedient to God’s calling and His purpose in her life as she invested time and effort into learning how to share her faith, understanding scriptures and disciplining/mentoring other women in their faith journey. Over the years she taught Sunday School and led a Precepts Bible study group.

Kay & Cecil’s family dynamics changed with the introduction of 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Kay was dubbed as “Mono” and enjoyed spoiling them.

As age caught up Kay’s calling became that of a prayer warrior. Daily she prayed for our country’s leaders, the sick, the lost and for her family. Her worship and prayers came from the very heart & soul of who she was in Christ. During her final days, Kay’s last coherent words were of worship.

Kay was loved beyond measure and will be missed dearly. Kay is survived by her husband, Cecil Wallace, daughters Rachel and husband Greg Reid, Melodie and her husband Gerald Hunt, grandchildren Erica and her husband Shawn Fry, Erin Hunt, Ethan and his wife Lindsay Hunt, Sara Reid, Jenna Reid and her fiancé Rodrigo Velasco and Nathan Reid, 3 great grandchildren Lucas & Caleb Fry and Theodore Hunt.

Kay was preceded in death by parents William & Ethel Martin, brother Reginald Martin, sister Yvonne Martin Montgomery, and son Mark Wallace.
