Kathleen Judith Meisinger

Kathleen Judith (Schaefer) Meisinger was born September 22, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Benet Hill Academy in 1980, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business, with an emphasis in Transportation, in 1986. Kathleen had a rewarding career with BNSF Railway for thirty-seven and a half years; however, the role she cherished most in life was being a mom to Mitchell, Allison and Lauren. 

Kathleen lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her vibrant personality, infectious laughter, giving heart, and adventurous spirit. Kathleen showed us something about how we can travel; with faith, with hope, with generosity, surrounded by the people we love, with God as her North Star. Kathleen spent her life making sure the people she loved had something to look forward to. Now, her faith gives all of us who loved her something to look forward to as well, the confidence that this goodbye is not forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, and a trail of Sew Sweet Minky blankets. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Kathleen is proceeded in death by her mother, Judith, and her father, Dr. Martin Schaefer, her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Kathryn (Shanahan) Lawrenz, and her paternal grandparents, Cyril and Una (Westbrook) Schaefer, and Gryffindor Meisinger. 

She is survived by her son, Mitchell Meisinger, and her two daughters, Lauren Meisinger, and Allison (Meisinger, husband Kade) Konkle, her stepson Eric (wife Casey) Meisinger, former in-laws Donald and Terri Meisinger, her Godfather and Uncle Dr. David (wife Sue) Schaefer, her cousins Scott (and wife Theresa) Stenmark and Paul (and wife Amy) Stenmark, her many Schaefer cousins, and beloved fur baby Remington. Kathleen also leaves an extensive chosen family; lifelong friends Suzann Negro, Nancy McNeight, Erika Frawley, nieces Shannon, London, and Brooke Lundberg, dear friends Shelly Harrison, Laurie Doherty, and Linda "Trooper" Albrecht, and neighbors turned family Rick and Sherri Humke, and their children who she considered like her own Sean, Chelsea, Ashlea, Halea, and their extended family. She will be missed by an abundance of additional family, friends and loved ones.
