Karen Ann Nyquist

Karen Ann Nyquist passed away at home on Thursday, December 25, 2025 in Allen, Texas. 

Karen was born on April 2, 1954, in Sherman, Texas, to John Alan Nyquist and Betty Lou (Bassham) Nyquist. Karen was the oldest of 5 children. She graduated from Richardson High School in 1972. She attended Richland College. She worked more than 40 years at American Airlines. She was a kind, strong, caring, funny, thoughtful, and generous woman. 

Karen loved her family, animals, and traveling. She loved getting together with her large extended family. She will be missed by all. Karen is survived by her siblings: Ellen Nyquist, Robert Nyquist (wife Linda), and Laura Kiefer (husband Craig); sister-in-law: Liz Nyquist; nieces and nephews: John Philip Nyquist (wife Shasta), Taylor Nyquist, and Jordan, Holly, and Rachel Kiefer; and great nephews: John Lawson Kubas and John Locke Nyquist.

Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 12:00 pm (noon), at Lucas Funerals and Cremations, 700 West Wall Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
