Judith Cortes Quesada

Judith Cortes Quesada, 88, went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1938, in Neiva, Huila, Colombia.

Judith was a woman of great intelligence, strength, and a heart filled with love and compassion. She attended La Presentación School in Neiva, Huila, and later studied law at the Externado de Colombia University in Bogotá. She practiced family law in Colombia for many years, a profession that allowed her to use her knowledge and experience to help others.

After retiring, Judith came to the United States to help raise her beloved grandson. There, she began a new chapter of her life surrounded by family and new experiences that brought her great joy. Over the years, she developed a deep love for animals, especially dogs. She volunteered and opened her home as a foster caregiver through Animal Advocates of North Texas and Dallas DogRRR, giving her time and affection to animals in need of a second chance. Her love for animals became a very important part of her life.

Judith also enjoyed traveling, reading poetry, and spending time with her loved ones. One of her greatest joys was cheering on her grandson at his hockey games. From the stands, she was his most devoted and enthusiastic supporter, always proud to be there for him and celebrate each of his accomplishments.

Judith was a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered for her generosity, unconditional love, kind heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her love knew no bounds, and she left a lasting impression on the lives of the people and animals she had the opportunity to care for and love.

Family and friends are invited to join the family in honoring and celebrating Judith's life on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home - Keller, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Judith's memory to make a donation to Dallas DogRRR, an organization whose work and mission were very important to her. 

Judith leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, generosity, and compassion that will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in her family, her friends, and in all those, both human and animal, to whom she gave her love and care.

May she rest in peace, and may the light of the Lord guide her always.

Judith Cortes Quesada, de 88 años, partió al encuentro del Señor el 9 de agosto de 2026. Nació el 23 de febrero de 1938 en Neiva, Huila, Colombia.

Judith fue una mujer de gran inteligencia, fortaleza y un corazón lleno de amor y compasión. Realizó sus estudios en el Colegio La Presentación de Neiva, Huila, y posteriormente estudió Derecho en la Universidad Externado de Colombia, en Bogotá. Ejerció durante muchos años como abogada de familia en Colombia, profesión que le permitió dedicar su conocimiento y experiencia a ayudar a los demás.

Después de jubilarse, Judith llegó a los Estados Unidos para ayudar en la crianza de su querido nieto. Allí comenzó una nueva etapa de su vida, rodeada de su familia y de nuevas experiencias que llenaron su corazón. Con el paso de los años, desarrolló un profundo amor por los animales, especialmente por los perros. Fue voluntaria y brindó su hogar como familia de acogida a través de Animal Advocates of North Texas y Dallas DogRRR, dedicando su tiempo y cariño a aquellos animales que necesitaban una segunda oportunidad. Su amor por los animales fue una parte muy importante de su vida.

Judith disfrutaba también de viajar, leer poesía y compartir momentos con sus seres queridos. Una de sus mayores alegrías era acompañar a su nieto en sus partidos de hockey. Desde las gradas, era su admiradora más fiel y entusiasta, siempre orgullosa de apoyarlo y celebrar cada uno de sus logros.

Judith fue una querida madre, abuela, suegra, hermana, tía, prima y amiga. Será recordada por su generosidad, su amor incondicional, su gran corazón y su disposición para tender una mano a quien lo necesitara. Su cariño no conocía límites y dejó una recuerdos hermosos y profundos en la vida de las personas y los animales que tuvo la oportunidad de cuidar y amar.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a acompañar a la familia para honrar y celebrar la vida de Judith el jueves 13 de agosto de 2026, de 5:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en Lucas Funeral Home - Keller, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248.

En lugar de flores, la familia invita a quienes deseen honrar la memoria de Judith a realizar una donación a Dallas DogRRR, una organización cuya labor y misión fueron muy importantes para ella. 

Judith deja un hermoso legado de amor, generosidad y compasión que permanecerá en el corazón de todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla. Su memoria vivirá en su familia, en sus amigos y en todos aquellos seres, grandes y pequeños, a quienes brindó su amor y cuidado.

Que descanse en paz y que la luz del Señor la acompañe por siempre.
