Josh Cannon, Sr., 67, of Hurst, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Edgewood, Texas.

A memorial service celebrating Josh’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76053.

Josh Randall Cannon was born on January 16, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Bob Elsworth Cannon and Annetta Carolyn Seale Cannon. He was raised in Keller and graduated from Keller High School in 1978. On September 26, 1981, he married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Guess, in Keller, Texas. Together they shared 44 years of marriage built on love, commitment, and family. They made their home in Hurst, where they raised two children and created a life filled with lasting memories.

Josh worked for many years as a commercial construction superintendent before recently retiring. A man of Christian faith, he found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. He especially cherished time with his family and treasured every moment with his seven-year-old grandson, William, who brought him immense pride and happiness. In his free time, Josh enjoyed fishing, relaxing while listening to his favorite music, spending time outdoors at his son’s property, and traveling with his family.

Josh will be remembered for his generous heart and the way he was always there for others. He never thought twice about lending a helping hand, sharing a tool, or taking time to help someone solve a problem. Family, friends, and neighbors knew they could count on him, and he found genuine joy in helping others. More than any accomplishment, Josh was proud of the family he and Pamela built together and the life they shared.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Annetta Cannon; his sister, Pamela Huffman; and his brother-in-law, Bruce Hall.

Josh is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Cannon of Hurst; son, Josh Cannon, Jr. and wife Sheena of Edgewood; daughter, Carley Huie and husband Kurt of Dallas; grandson, William Huie; brother, Max Cannon and wife Sharon of Keller; brother-in-law, Steve Guess and wife Cathy of North Richland Hills; sister-in-law, Paula Hall of Waxahachie; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
