Ft. Worth

Jose Michael McCrann-Macapagal, lovingly known to many as Mike, passed away on January 8, 2026. He will be remembered for his bright, welcoming smile, his steady kindness, and the deep love he had for his family.

Mike was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines, where he spent his early years surrounded by family and strong values. He attended Holy Family School from preparatory school through sixth grade, then continued his education at Holy Angel College through his sophomore year. In 1976, Mike moved to the United States, where he later completed his education at Fairfield High School in California.

After immigrating to the U.S., Mike made California his home, residing in Sunnyvale until 1996. That year marked a major milestone in his life when he brought his family to Texas and proudly purchased his first home. A hardworking man among his siblings, Mike was known for his strong sense of responsibility, especially toward helping and supporting his mother.

Mike had a meticulous nature—he took pride in being organized and enjoyed having things in proper order. This attention to detail carried into his professional life. He worked as a mechanic at Travel Air Force Space, where he met the love of his life, Ceres. With the loving help of his older siblings acting as matchmakers, Mike and Ceres began corresponding through handwritten letters exchanged weekly between the Philippines and the United States—a love story rooted in patience, dedication, and intention.

Mike later worked American Airlines, where he spent many years before retiring early. During his time there, he formed deep bonds and friendships that lasted a lifetime, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

Mike had a passion for travel. While he frequently returned to the Philippines to stay connected to his roots, later in life he discovered a love for cruise travel, which allowed him to explore many parts of the world—something that brought him great joy.

Mike met Ceres Santos in the Philippines in 1990. They were married on February 26, 1991, followed by a church wedding on October 20, 1991. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children:

• Michael Allen Macapagal, born July 10, 1992

• Marlene Thea Macapagal, born February 11, 1995

• Mikko Macapagal, born October 9, 1997

Mike was deeply rooted in family. Those closest to him often shared that he was the one who helped bring siblings together, keeping family bonds strong and always centered on connection. He was known for being extremely kind, friendly, and supportive in both words and actions.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Ceres Santos-Macapagal; his children; his cherished grandchildren, Athena Hansana-Macapagal, Artemis Macapagal, and Astraea Macapagal; and his loving siblings:

Mirasol Ajos Macapagal, Andy Macapagal, Jane McCrann Macapagal, Jocelyn Macapagal De Guzman, Alan Macapagal, and Joey Macapagal.

Mike’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the relationships he nurtured, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered

Mike was loved and honored by his family and friends. His kindness, compassion, and love for family will remain alive in our hearts. May God receive him into His eternal peace and light

Sumalangit nawa ang iyong kaluluwa.
May your soul rest in heaven.

Prayer for the Faithful Departed

Into Your hands, O Lord,
we humbly entrust our brother, Mike.
In this life You embraced him with Your tender love;
deliver him now from every evil
and grant him eternal rest.

Amen.
