Burleson

Jonathan Paul Thorne, of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends. He was 47 years old.

Born on December 24, 1978, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jonathan lived a life that was larger than life itself. To know Jonathan was to know kindness, laughter, and unconditional acceptance. He never met a stranger, and everyone who crossed his path was greeted with a smile, a hug, and often an invitation to join in whatever fun was happening.

Jonathan believed every day was worth celebrating, and he had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Jonathan's love for life was evident in everything he did. He could often be found wearing his favorite jeans, boots, and pearl snap shirt, listening to country music—especially the classics of the 1980s and 1990s. He was a devoted fan of Dolly Parton, loved all things Elvis, and rarely passed up an opportunity to hit the dance floor. His joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and genuine love for people made him unforgettable to all who knew him.

More than anything, Jonathan loved people. He had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, valued, and loved. His warm heart and generous spirit left a lasting impact on countless friends, family members, and acquaintances. The world was brighter because Jonathan was in it, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

Jonathan is lovingly survived by his parents, Kenneth and Dolores Thorne; his sister, Shannon Gray, and brother-in-law, Charlie Gray; his sister, Amy Bass, and brother-in- law, Rodney Bass; his brother, Nicholas Thorne, and sister-in-law, Lexy Thorne; his nieces and nephews, Seth and Julianna James, Trey and Vegas James, Tyler Gray, Karoline Bass, and Linley Thorne; his great-nephews, Atlas James and Miles James; his maternal grandmother, Betty Miles; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who became family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Frances Thorne, and his maternal grandfather, George Miles.

While our hearts grieve the loss of Jonathan's physical presence, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, music, dancing, and countless hugs. His spirit reminds us to embrace life fully, love generously, and never miss a chance to celebrate the people around us.
