John E. Sullivan

August 27, 1944 — July 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Edward Sullivan, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and cherished friend, who left us on July 8, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 27, 1944, to Ruth and Art Sullivan.

After serving his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1965, John pursued his passion for grooming by attending barber college at the University of Ohio, where he honed his skills and eventually opened his own barbershop in Keller Texas. He also served as a paramedic in Missouri for many years. He took great pride in his craft and developed lasting relationships with his customers and patients over the years.

In 1965, John married the love of his life, Phyllis, and together they celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. They built a beautiful family, raising three daughters: Corissa, Karen and Carrie. John found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He was a proud grandfather who adored sharing his passions for hunting, fishing, golf, and woodworking with them.

John is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, his daughters and their spouses, Corissa (Bobby) Williams, Karen (Steve) Blackwood and Carrie (Adam) Johnston and grandchildren, Grace (Bailey) Schlereth, Shelby Williams, Kyle (Lawren) Williams, Avery Bruner, McKayla Johnston, and Knox Johnston; siblings, Peggy Williams, Heidi Thompson, Judy Butler, and Terry Sullivan, as well as many friends and family members who were touched by his warmth and generosity. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruth Sullivan, brothers, Dennis Sullivan and George Sullivan, and sister, Donna Wise.

John will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
