John Sayre, a man remembered for his unique sense of humor, humility, and a strong work ethic, passed away on June 30, 2025, in Grapevine, Texas. He was 70 years old and a lifelong resident of Texas.
Born on November 8, 1954, John was the beloved son of Mary and A.K. Sayre. John was self-educated and a dedicated small business owner, proudly founding Big Value Rental. His commitment to his work was a testament to the values he lived by and passed on to his family. In his retirement, he dedicated much of his time to caring for his uncle Edwin and his mother Mary.
John found joy in his hobbies, dedicating time to gardening and diligently researching genealogy and ancestry. These quiet pursuits reflected his contemplative nature and his appreciation for history and heritage. He was a loving father to his sons, Michael, Daniel, Paul, and Jacob, and a cherished grandfather to Samson and Dashiel. John also leaves behind his brothers, Kelley and Larry, and his mother Mary.
He instilled in his children a profound sense of duty and responsibility, shaping them into the men they are today. John's passing leaves a void in the lives of his family and friends, but his legacy of hard work, unique humor, and practical wisdom will continue to inspire them.
A funeral service with burial will be held to celebrate John's life on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM. A visitation will precede the service at 1:00 PM. Pastor Travis Jenkins will officiate the service.
Burial will take place immediately following the 2:00 PM service at: Grapevine Cemetery N Dooley St & Wildwood Ln Grapevine, TX 76051
Pallbearers will be Daniel Sayre, Michael Sayre, Paul Sayre, Jacob Sayre, Ryan Sayre, and Kellet Sayre.
