John Battista Peraino

Feb 4, 1932 — Sep 18, 2026

John Battista Peraino passed away on September 18, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on February 4, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and lived a long life marked by love, devotion, laughter, and abiding faith.

John was the youngest of twelve children in a loving immigrant family from Sicily, a heritage that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He shared a special bond with his brothers and sisters, who were among his dearest friends. Following the example of his brothers, he answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy. During his time in the Navy, he met his first wife, Anne, in Scotland and brought her to America. Together they were blessed with three children.

Over the years, John built a life centered on family, hard work, and generosity. He worked at Allis Chalmers before moving his family to California, where he later retired from UCLA. Even in retirement, his energy and work ethic remained strong, and he enjoyed meaningful years working at Northrop Grumman and through his own HVAC company. He was a man who found purpose in providing for others and took pride in every chapter of his working life.

To those who knew him best, John will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family, together with his love for God, formed the center of his world. After the loss of Anne, he was blessed again in marriage to Louise “Jeanne” Peraino. They shared 44 years of marriage, building a warm and caring life together. Between John’s children and Jeanne’s children, they lovingly blended their family into one large circle of affection, gathering often and cherishing the grandchildren they adored.

John took joy in life’s simple and enduring pleasures. He loved fishing, deer hunting, camping, and above all, time spent with family. He was also known for making and sharing his family’s Italian sausage and Italian cookies, gifts of tradition and love that brought people together around his table. He had a huge and generous heart, and whenever he encountered someone in need, he made sure that need was met. His nieces and nephews were dear to him as well, and he loved them as if they were his own children.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise “Jeanne” Peraino; his children Lori and Bill, John and Susan, Diane and Tom, Patty, and Debbie and Scott. In the life they built together, John and Jeanne created a large, caring family whose bonds were strengthened by shared celebrations, enduring love, and the steady example he gave each day. His memory will remain a blessing to all who were welcomed into that family circle.

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne; his father, Frank Piraino; his mother, Maria Piraino; his brothers Tom, Vincent, Joseph, Jack, Frank, and Peter; and his sisters Mamie, Jenny, Tillie, and Ella.

A memorial service will be held on November 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Saint Peter Lutheran Church 15701 Cleveland Gibbs Rd, Roanoke, Texas 76262. Lunch will follow.
