John Lee

July 18, 1952 — July 8, 2025

John Lee, a beloved husband, dad, papa, brother and friend stepped joyfully into the arms of Jesus on July 8,2025 in Grapevine, Texas, at the age of 72. Born on July 18,1952 in Dallas, Texas, John was a larger-than-life soul who impacted the lives of those around him with his generosity and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

John grew up in Irving, Texas where he excelled in playing baseball and attended MacArthur High School. John was so excited for every opportunity to hunt, fish and play golf. His passion for sports has always included cheering for the Texas Longhorns. His most important interest was spending time with his family; he took pride in each of them.

On August 19,1972 John married the love of his life, Debbie Cavness. Together they have one daughter, Kelly Prasse and son in law, Kris Prasse. John was a devoted grandfather to Dylan and Finley Prasse, attending every sporting event and celebrating every achievement. His legacy continues through his grandchildren who will carry forward his enthusiasm for life and faith.

After a brief battle with cancer, John dedicated his life to Christ and was never the same again. His passion for God’s promises and His ability to explain the gospel to others has touched and impacted countless lives. This passion led his to his calling as a youth minister and private school principal, helping shape young minds with the knowledge and love of Jesus.

John is survived by a brother, Jim Lee, along with sisters-in-law Neal Lee, Pam Rushing and Tina Kirst. He held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews: Vance and Jena Himes, Locke and Rex Himes, Sarah Kirst, Brian and Katherine Bang, Reagan Lee, and Peter and Thomas Harwell.
