John Harvey Gross

July 4, 1948 — January 14, 2026

Fort Worth, TX

John Gross, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on July 4, 1948, to John and Angela Gross in New York City, New York.

John graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and was a member of the college football team. Following graduation, he served as a police officer in Norwalk, Connecticut, where he met the love of his life, Annette. He later served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1978.

John spent 35 years with Graham Packing Company, relocating eight times throughout his career. Known for his dedication and leadership, he was instrumental in revitalizing struggling facilities and transforming them into high-performing, world-class operations.

Despite his professional accomplishments, John’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared 48 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Annette, and together they raised four children: Pam, Tony, Chris, and Matt. He was especially proud of his six grandchildren, who brought immense joy and purpose to his life.

John leaves behind a legacy of service, integrity, faith, and family devotion that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Annette; children Pam (Derek) Hernquist, Tony (Kristin), Chris (Stephanie), and Matt (Jennifer); grandchildren Dylan, Anna, Sophia, Olivia, Savannah, and Jack; and sisters Marion Kohler and Robin Wcislo.
