Joe Dantone, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on March 31, 1951, in Greenwood, MS, to Frank John Dantone and Marie Vincent Dantone.

Joe's early education was marked by his attendance at St. Joseph Catholic School in Greenville, MS, where he developed lifelong friendships and cherished memories. His passion for life transcended the ordinary, as he embraced a variety of interests that reflected his vibrant spirit. Joe had a particular fondness for music; he enjoyed playing the guitar, often filling his home with melodies that resonated with his family. His love for the outdoors was evident in his frequent hunting and fishing excursions, as well as his time spent gardening and mushroom hunting. He skillfully crafted woodwork, creating both functional and decorative pieces that showcased his creativity and craftsmanship.

Family was at the heart of Joe's life. He found immense joy in playing Nintendo 64 with his son and grandchildren, fostering connections through laughter and friendly competition. He is survived by his son, Stephen Dantone and stepson John Marc Jourdan; his step daughter, Ashley Ann Burrus; daughter-in-law, Shelly Renee Dantone and his cherished grandsons, Nicholas James Dantone, Alexander Joseph Dantone, Zachary William Dantone, and Joseph Denman Preston.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Frank John and Marie Vincent Dantone, as well as his brothers, Mark Vincent Dantone and Michael Douglas Dantone. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank John Dantone and Tommy Lucas Dantone, and his sister, Christina Marie Farve, who join in mourning his loss.

In celebrating Joe's remarkable life, we remember not only his many interests and talents but also the love and laughter he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through his family and friends, who will cherish the memories and the joy he shared with them. Joe Dantone will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
