Jody Gonzales, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his cherished family. Born on April 20, 1934, in Fort Stockton, Texas, Jody was a man whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Jody attended Butz Elementary, Stockton Junior High School, and Barber College, which laid the foundation for his lifelong appreciation of learning and personal development. He was a long time member of St. Agnes Men's Club.

On June 3, 1961, Jody proudly married the love of his life, Petra Valenzuela. Together, they built a life rich in love and family. Jody is survived by his devoted wife, Petra Gonzales, and their six children: Yolanda Rascon (Gilbert), Joe Gonzales (Linda), Elizabeth Cantu (Robert), Rosie Levitt (Charlie), Patricia DeSoi (John), and Felix Gonzales (Delma). He found great joy in being a grandfather to his thirteen grandchildren: Veronica Rascon, Raquel Jimenez, Emilio Gonzales, Jon Gonzales, Natalie Cantu, Jackie Cantu, Philip Levitt, Thomas Levitt, John Levitt, Mary Kate Reed, Joshua Gonzales, Jessica Gonzales, and Jenny Gonzales. Additionally, Jody was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Gabriel Jimenez, Natalie Jimenez, Lucy Levitt, Patrick Levitt, Rosanna Reed, and Leon Levitt. In addition to his immediate family, Jody leaves behind his sister, Lucy Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Basilia Gonzales, along with his siblings, who will welcome him into eternal rest.

Jody had a zest for life marked by simple pleasures and profound relationships. He loved grilling with his family, bringing everyone together around good food and laughter. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed cheering for his favorite teams especially football teams, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and enthusiasm among friends and loved ones. When the Cowboys, Longhorns or Aggies played, it became a watch party with family and friends.
