Joan Ratcliff

Joan Ratcliff died June 25, 2026 in Waxahachie, Texas. Joan was born June 5, 1941 to Fred and Buelah Olsen in Fort Worth. Joan was one of four children.

Joan was married to Gene Ratcliff on May 25, 1959 in Fort Worth Texas and lived for many years in Hurst, Texas, raising one daughter and one son.

Joan worked for 35 years as an Administrative Assistant for Lone Star Gas Company. After retiring she became involved with Girl Scouts and remained involved for the next 15 years, leading multiple troops into all kinds of adventures. Joan was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hurst, Texas. Joan played first base for the church softball team. Joan loved all crafts, sewing, fishing and even square dancing at one point.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ratcliff. She is survived by her children Debbie Giannola and Gene Ed Ratcliff, Jr., four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her sister June Moore and brother Charles Olsen.
