Jo was born in Eunice New Mexico to Rowden “Tip” and Thelma Tipton. She grew up in the oil fields of West Texas and graduated from Odessa High School. She met her husband, Bobby Earley while he worked for her father in the oil business. Bob was from far East Texas, and it was a true East meets West romance for the next 29 years until his passing.
Jo worked in the Auto Glass industry her entire career and enjoyed building relationships with coworkers and customers. Jo enjoyed all the friendships she developed in her Sunday school classes throughout her life and stayed strong in her Christian faith.
She was a plant lover; no, I mean a plant lover extraordinaire! She loved to look at them, smell them, buy them, plant them, read about them, and most of all talk about them. She held a special place for Plumeria trees, which she enjoyed with her two sisters. She loved to cook and was known far and wide for her secret chocolate pie recipe.
Most of all, Jo loved her family. She was the first to arrive and the last to leave at all family functions. She could always be counted on to be there, be active, be involved, and be part of her family’s lives.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Bob, brothers Howard and Key, sisters Barbara and Melba.
Survived by, children Tim Earley and wife Gena, Deirdre Riscky and husband Jay, grandchildren, Cody (LaRae), Jake (Whitney), Chad, Pete (Laura), and Maddie.
