Jo Ann Griffin Hillman

Jo Ann Griffin Hillman, aged 98, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on March 2, 2026. Born on June 8, 1927, in McAdoo, Texas, Jo Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose legacy will continue through her loving family and friends.

Jo Ann dedicated much of her professional life to the banking industry, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients alike. Her commitment to her work was but a reflection of her dedication to the people around her.

Outside of her career, Jo Ann had a zest for life and a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing games and puzzles, and had a particular fondness for watching basketball. A passionate dancer, Jo Ann also loved needlepoint and sewing, activities that showcased her creativity and artistic flair.

Jo Ann is survived by her son, Bobby Nelson, and daughter, Rhonda Cook. She was a proud grandmother to Brian Nelon, Christine Fonseca (Gabriel), Holly Stringer (Scott), and Amanda Smith (Glen). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Tyler Jimenez, Landry Fonseca, Layla Briones, Elissa Fitzgerald, and Glen Smith Jr. She also delighted in the company of her great-great-grandchildren, Everlynn Jimenez and Rogan Jimenez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will hold her memory dear.

Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Darrel D. Hillman, as well as her parents, Jack and Viva Griffin. Jo Ann was also preceded in death by her siblings: Waid, Wilma, Lee, and JJ, all of whom she held close to her heart.

Jo Ann Griffin Hillman's warm spirit and kind nature will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her life's journey, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering strength, leaves a profound impact, reminding us all of the joy found in family and cherished moments.
