Jimmy Lynn Coker

Jimmy Lynn Coker, 68, of Keller, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, surrounded by family in his home. Born in Ennis, Texas, on December 30, 1957, Jimmy graduated from Ennis High School in 1976. He dedicated his life to mastering his carpentry skillset, while owning and operating his own business for the better part of his life. Jimmy’s dedication to quality and customer service echoed loudly, as he accomplished BBB accreditation, along with many other awards for his work. While his professional accomplishments were exemplary, his later dedication to family and building community wherever he went rang loudest. Jimmy loved fishing, Harleys, coaching, horticulture, classic rock, a good pair of overalls, wrestling/UFC, Natty Light/Jack Daniels, Ennis Lions High School football, but most of all his children and grandchildren.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bessie and Wesley (Gus) Lanicek and Nora and Bill Boren, his mother, Betty Jane Coker (BJ), Aunts, AnnaLee, Helen, and Myrna, Uncle, Wesley, and 3 granddogs: Jet, Pumpkin, and Chubs. He is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Hollie Heath, children: Jeremy Wentrcek (Cindy), Cory Coker (granddog Junebug), and Casey Coker (Coree), his 6 grandchildren: Joe, Josh, Keegan, Brooklynn, Kennedy, and Hezekiah, father, Ronald Coker, sister, Yvette Murphy (Bob) and their children: Lauren and Henley, along with Aunts Irene and Josephine.

Jim will be remembered for his strength, impeccable talent with tools, his playful personality, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He went by many names, challenged norms, touched countless hearts, and will leave a legacy of love and kindness for generations to come.

The family encourages donations to the Thyroid, Head & Neck Cancer (THANC) Foundation and Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. Flowers are also welcome, as Jimmy would appreciate the beauty they bring.

Friends and family are invited to Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX on September 3, 2026 at 2p.m., along with the celebratory toast and food at Keller Tavern after the conclusion of service.
