Memorial services for Jerry A. Skinner, 90, of Watauga, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2026, at Bethesda Community Church. He will later be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Virginia, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Jerry passed away peacefully at his home in Watauga on September 4, 2026. He was born April 29, 1936, to Harold and Ruth Skinner in Boonville, Missouri.

Jerry was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. His faith was at the heart of his life, and he felt called to serve others as a pastor. Throughout his ministry, Jerry had the opportunity to touch countless lives through his compassion, wisdom, faith, and genuine love for people. His life was a testament to his devotion to God, his family, and those he was blessed to serve.

Jerry’s greatest joy was his family, and he leaves behind a loving legacy that will continue through the generations. He is survived by his son, Martin Skinner and wife Loriean; daughters, Melanie Ivey and husband Mitchell, and Deborah Sale; sisters, Joy Carlson, Janet Breithaupt, and Judy Holyfield and husband Jim.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dustin Skinner and wife Silvia, Lindsay Ward and husband Kaleb, Erica Skinner and fiancé Matthew Laubacher, Kasandra Keith and husband Doug, Kendra Torres and husband Tylor, Jordan Dobesh and husband Ivan, Kaleb Ivey, Jarred Ivey, Joshua Ivey and wife Samantha, and Kamran Ivey; great-grandchildren, Joyce, Jody, Kayden, Mia, Ava, Parker, Mason, Daltyn, T.J., Rudy, Otto, Silas, and Maylah; with two more great-grandchildren on the way.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Skinner; and brothers-in-law, Charles Breithaupt and Joel Carlson.

Though Jerry will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his life of faith, service, and love will continue through the many lives he touched and the generations of family who carry his legacy forward.
