Jerry Rob Sharpe of Grapevine, Texas, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the age of 79 after a long illness. He was born on November 27, 1946 in San Angelo, Texas.
Jerry enjoyed sharing stories about his early life working with horses on a dude ranch – memories that reflected love of the outdoors. He Later attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he earned his degree and began building the foundation for a successful career.
Jerry spent 35 years with Advance (formerly Phillips Lighting), where he served as Vice President for the southwest region before his retirement. Throughout his career, Jerry made many lifelong friends at Advance. He was respected for his loyalty, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on those he worked with.
At the age of 66, Jerry accepted Christ as his Savior, a decision that guided the next chapter of his life.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, June Robinson and Robert Alton Sharpe.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Sharpe; his brother, Don Sharpe; his stepdaughters, Pamela Batson, Amy Ward and her husband Jeff, Lisa Schlinke and her husband, Gunna, and Bonnie Salome; and his cherished grandchildren, Gabriel and Glory Ward – who lovingly knew him as, “Papa.”
Jerry especially treasured time spent with his grandchildren and took great joy in being their Papa. He also loved caring for his beloved dogs over the years. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed gardening, playing golf, and savoring one of his favorite meals – his wife Nancy’s chicken fried steak.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
