Jerry Daniel Blanchard, age 85, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. Born on October 2, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jerry lived a life marked by compassion, service, and unwavering devotion to those around him.
A proud veteran, Jerry served in the U.S. Army as a medic, embodying the spirit of care and courage that would define his life’s work. He went on to dedicate over 30 years as a nurse specializing in substance abuse rehabilitation, touching countless lives with his empathy, strength, and commitment to healing.
Jerry’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and found peace on the water. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and sharing laughter and stories with those he loved. His warmth and humor made every gathering brighter.
He is survived by his children: Karen Dunn-Peacock and husband Robert, Jerry Blanchard and wife Treanna, Ben Blanchard and step-daughter Jessica Molina; grandchildren: Jennifer Ertle, Robert Cook Jr., Bailey Cook, Dylan Dunn-Peacock, Michelle Zapatos, Jacob Blanchard, Michelle Mata-Sparkman, and Amanda Mata; Ventura Molina and eight great-grandchildren as well as his beloved niece and nephew Alex and Martha Hernandez. He also leaves behind many other cherished family and friends whose lives he enriched.
A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd., Hurst, TX.
Jerry’s legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
