Jeanna was born on August 26, 1971, in Amarillo, Texas, to Norma Hellman and Gary Scudder. A proud West Texas native, she carried that spirit with her throughout her life.
Jeanna attended Amarillo College, where she worked as a DJ for the college radio station. She later graduated from North Texas State University with degrees in Communications and Elementary Education.
She spent several years teaching second grade at Liberty Elementary in Keller, Texas. After earning her Special Education certification, she worked with autistic students at IL Texas in North Richland Hills. She was a teacher by calling, not just by profession, and brought patience, creativity, and steady commitment to her students.
She met her husband, Chris Brady, through friends, and together they shared more than 25 years of marriage and built a life centered on family. To her husband, Chris, Jeanna was the love of his life, and he will carry that love with him always. Jeanna especially loved raising their sons, Will and Jake, and being part of their activities over the years. Much of their family time together was spent at practices, games, and team events—experiences that meant a great deal to her.
She had a deep love for travel, with London holding a special place in her heart. She cherished her visits there, where she enjoyed exploring historic landmarks and learning about the city’s history and the story of the British royal family. This interest reflected her natural curiosity and appreciation for history, culture, and tradition.
She was creative and expressive, whether through painting, decorating, or writing. She authored two children’s books based on real-life experiences and had a strong sense of humor that those close to her will always remember.
Jeanna was preceded in death by her father, Gary Scudder.
She is survived by her husband, Chris Brady, her sons, Will and Jake; her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Steve Ellis; her niece, Emily, and nephew, Elijah; her mother and stepfather, Norma and Wayne Hellman; as well as extended family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller, Texas. An inurnment will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Keller, Texas.
