Jason Wayne Mraz, 53, of Colleyville, Texas, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 13, 2026, following a courageous battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).
Born on October 20, 1972, in Houston, Texas, Jason was raised in Katy, where he developed the character, integrity, and quiet determination that would define his life.
He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1995, where he met the love of his life, Andria Ellice Mraz. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. Following graduation, Jason proudly served his country for four years as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army. After his military service, he enjoyed a successful career in software sales, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his professionalism, honesty, and genuine care for others.
Above all else, Jason was a devoted husband and an extraordinary father to Jared Wayne Mraz and Annelise Jane Mraz. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, whether cheering on a favorite team, preparing a meal, attending concerts, or simply enjoying life’s everyday moments together. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, who brought him endless companionship and joy.
Jason’s faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. A faithful member of St. Vincent’s Cathedral, he lived with humility, compassion, and a servant’s heart. His unwavering trust in God sustained him throughout his courageous battle with ALS and inspired everyone privileged to walk beside him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Andria Ellice Mraz; his children, Jared Wayne Mraz (25) and Annelise Jane Mraz (23); and his parents, Ronald Wayne and Carol Ann Mraz. He also leaves behind countless extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were made better by knowing him.
To those who knew him best, Jason will be remembered not only for his strength and unwavering faith but for the kindness, loyalty, and generosity that marked every part of his life. He possessed a rare gift for making people feel valued and loved, and his quiet example of integrity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
One friend described him simply and perfectly: “Jason was the best friend a person could ever hope for.” Those words capture the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
Though his earthly journey has ended, Jason’s faith assures us that death is not the end. His family finds comfort in the promise that he has been welcomed into the eternal presence of his Savior, where he has been made whole and is forever at peace.
