Iva Arlene Bess, 90, of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully at her home on September 27, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1934, to Ivan and Irma Sizer in San Antonio, Texas.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Saint Peter Lutheran Church. Arlene will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Wyman, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on October 17, 2027, at 11:30 a.m.
Arlene had a love for reading and enjoyed traveling alongside Wyman throughout their marriage. She was a devoted Elvis fan, found joy in watching old movies—especially Gone With the Wind—and had a unique collection of salt and pepper shakers that she treasured over the years.
She leaves behind her sons, Keven Bess and wife Kathy, and Keith Bess; daughters, Karen Bouillon and husband Greg and Karla Balduc and husband Robert; grandchildren, Stephanie Mitchell and husband Buddy, Victoria Chartier and husband Rhys, Kristin Parsley and husband Rick, Kody Bess, Richard Bess, Benjamin Balduc and wife Hayley, Hannah Rueff and husband David, Seth Balduc and wife Courtney, and Noah Balduc; and great-grandchildren, Trey Parsley, Isaac Parsley, Cage Mitchell, Mason Balduc, Elle Balduc, and Beckham Rueff.
Arlene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Wyman Bess, and her brother, Glen Freudenberg
She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
