Helen Ruth Post, 86, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026. She was born on February 14, 1940, in Paterson, New Jersey, to Bert and Wilma Bokma.

Helen spent 42 years in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, before moving to Keller, Texas, 24 years ago. She was married to her beloved husband, James N. Post Jr., for 62 years until his passing on June 23, 2022. Their life together was marked by a deep love for their family and many wonderful memories shared throughout the years.

Helen was an active choir member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO). Helen had a love for travel, choir, event decorating, and shopping, and she especially enjoyed creating beautiful and memorable occasions for those around her.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: Major General USAF (Ret.) James N. Post III and his wife, Susan, of Fort Worth, Texas; Major USAFR (Ret.) Kenneth S. Post and his wife, Kim, of North Richland Hills, Texas; and Master Chief Petty Officer USCG (Ret.) Kevin R. Post and his wife, Tamara, of Freehold, New Jersey. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Lauren Lofgren and her husband, Blake; Nelson Post; Kassidy Post; Kami Kline and her husband, Michael; and Austin Post; as well as her three great-grandchildren, Petranella and Willa Lofgren and Hadi Kline as well as her sister June Brinkman and brother Bob Bokma and his wife Marcy.

Helen’s warmth, generosity, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, and cherished memories that will continue through the generations.

A service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at White’s Chapel. A visitation and reception will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the White’s Chapel Choir in Helen’s memory.
