Heather Kay Smith

Aug 22, 1980 — Aug 31, 2026

Heather Smith, 46, passed away on August 31, 2026. Born on August 22, 1980, in Fort Worth, Texas, Heather was the beloved daughter of Harry and Diana McMorris and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Above all else, Heather loved her family. Heather was her son Houston’s biggest fan. Whether it was football or baseball, she loved being there to support him and watch her children do the things they loved. She had a special place in her heart for animals and treasured the pets that were part of her life and family.

One of her greatest joys was being “Nannie Kay” to her grandchildren, Hagen Smith and Hattie Tate Smith. She took tremendous pride in being their grandmother and cherished the time she spent with them.

Heather will be remembered for the love she had for those closest to her and for the pride and happiness her family brought into her life. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created with the people she loved will remain with them always.

Heather is survived by her husband, Tommie Smith; her parents, Harry and Diana McMorris; her children, Houston Buckner, Sawyer Smith(Taylor), and Sydnee Presser(Jared); her grandchildren, Hagen Smith and Hattie Tate Smith; her siblings, Michelle Egure(David) and Jarrett McMorris(Nikki); her grandfather, Monte Dirickson as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jean Dirickson and her beloved dog Roxy.

Heather’s life was far too short, but the love she gave to her family—especially her children and grandchildren—will continue to live on through them. She will forever be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
