Glenn Bryant Burch

October 10, 1948 — November 24, 2025

Glenn Bryant Burch was born in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, on October 10, 1948, to Julia and Harry Burch. He grew up in Ho-Ho-Kus and later Bronxville, New York, where his lifelong love of football began. That love eventually led to Donna, when she borrowed his football gear for a Halloween party, an unexpected start to their 61-year love story.

After losing both parents at a young age, Glenn quickly learned to take on responsibility, developing the self-reliance and problem-solving skills that would define him throughout his life. Following his mother’s passing, he joined the United States Navy and served proudly in Vietnam as a member of the Seabees. During his military service, as in childhood and later at IBM, Glenn formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

In 1970, Glenn and Donna were married and soon welcomed their daughters, Kelly and Dina. Glenn built a successful 30-year career with IBM, a role that brought the family from New York to Chicago and ultimately to the Dallas–Fort Worth area. During his years with IBM, Glenn also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and spent time reading with children in Dallas-area schools, contributions that showcased his generosity, steady patience, and desire to support his community.

In retirement, Glenn embraced woodworking, home-improvement projects, golf, and travel, including memorable trips across the United States and throughout Europe. He cherished time with his family most of all and loved creating things for them, sewing Halloween costumes for his daughters and building furniture for their nurseries. Quiet, capable, and endlessly inventive, Glenn was someone who showed love through action and could fix just about anything. He even completed the Chicago Marathon, a testament to his determination.

Glenn is remembered lovingly by his devoted wife, Donna; his daughter Kelly Steele and her husband Darren; his daughter Dina Watson and her husband Marcus; his grandchildren Morgan and Ryan Steele, and Katie Belle and Jesse Watson; his brother, Richard Burch and his wife Celine November; his sister-in-law, Carol Davis and her husband Mike Davis; and his nieces.
