In Loving Memory of Gleen Lewis November 25, 1951 – April 9, 2025
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Gleen Lewis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and veteran. Gleen passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 73. He was a resident of Burleson, Texas, and formerly of Blytheville, Arkansas.
Gleen was born on November 25, 1951, to Lula Lawson and Fessor Ree Lewis. He graduated from Armorel High School before proudly serving in the United States Navy. During his distinguished 24-year military career, he rose to the rank of Chief Petty Officer at Naval Air Station Dallas, where he made history as one of the first Black Chief Petty Officers stationed at the base. After his honorable retirement from the Navy, Gleen continued to serve his country in a new capacity, beginning a second career in logistics with L3 Technologies, where he dedicated another 20 years of service.
Gleen will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering integrity, and quiet strength. He was deeply organized, thoughtful in all he did, and carried a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening, fishing, and working on cars and trucks. He cherished the peace and serenity of the countryside, often happiest when surrounded by nature and away from the bustle of the city.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Marion Lewis; his children, Gleen Lewis, Marcus Lewis, and Tylesia Lewis; and his grandchildren, Donate Lewis, Tyeshawn Lewis, Trinity Lewis, and Takiyeh Lewis. He is also survived by his siblings: Flossie Beasley, Fessor Lewis, Jr., Linda Mathis, Caldelea White, Beverly Knox, Charlie Lewis, Shirley Lewis, and Carey Lewis.
Gleen was preceded in death by his sister and brother; Mary Ward and Sammie Lewis. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM on May 1, 2025, at Meadowridge Baptist Church, located at 3400 Charleston Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76123.
Gleen’s life was a testament to service, love, and humility. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
