Geraldine Floyd McDonald Martin was born on January 14, 1926 in Armstrong, Bryan County, OK to Joe Perry and Coral Ada (Rambo) Floyd. She passed from this life on April 26, 2026 at the age of 100 years.
A memorial service and celebration of Geri’s life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, May 16, at Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, TX. Family visitation will follow the service.
Geri was a friend to all who knew her. She was gracious and kind, loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends, she was an avid Texas Rangers fan, loved card games, and she loved to cook. Preparing food and meals was Geri’s way of showing love.
Geri met J. Douglas McDonald in Elk City, OK through her roommate, who was also his sister. Doug and Geri married in November 1947 and resided in El Paso, TX until 1960 when they relocated to Roswell, NM. Together they had two children, Kathleen and Jack Douglas.
During Geri’s life in Roswell, she was an active member of the South Main Church of Christ. Following the death of her second husband, Geri moved to Hurst, TX to be nearer to her children and grandchildren. While in Hurst, she was an active member of Legacy Church of Christ and especially enjoyed her time with the ladies quilting group.
Geri was preceded in death by her husband, Doug, husband, Dale, her parents Joe and Coral Floyd, her brothers R.E. Floyd and wife Sarah Mae, Joe Mac Floyd and wife Dorothy, and Bill Floyd, along with dear brothers and sisters in law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Geri is survived by her daughter Kathleen (McDonald) Bickerstaff of Sherman, TX, son Jack Douglas McDonald and wife Jacque of Southlake, TX, grandson Koll Douglas Bickerstaff of Stephenville, TX, granddaughter Kelsea Anne Bickerstaff of Dallas, TX and grandson Cash Douglas McDonald of Southlake, TX, sister-in-law Marilyn Day Floyd, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Compass Church (formerly South Main church of Christ) in Roswell, NM, Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, TX, or the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home in Portales, NM.
