Georgia Simon

December 13, 1948 — January 18, 2026

Georgia Lynn Simon, 77, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 13, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Bernadette Gertrude Robey and John Erwin Robey Jr. Georgia graduated from Edgewood High School and later earned a BSN degree from Texas Tech.

Georgia’s life was defined by her devotion to family and friends. She never met a stranger, and she lived to give. Many of us have at least one item that she hand crafted with love. After many rounds of cancer treatment herself, she was moved to lead the Grace Circle sewing group to sew and provide an uncounted number of comforting neck pillows. The members then hand delivered the pillows to surprised patients in the infusion centers. When Georgia heard of anyone with major health problems, she would immediately make a customized blanket for them. She was famous for creating personalized Christmas stockings—we can’t even estimate how many. She also embroidered customized items for friends and loved ones, and many homes now display her loving handiwork.

Before her marriage to Gary, Georgia worked for State Representative Rodney Tow and then Continental Airlines. In addition to her ongoing side hustle making and selling crafts, Georgia’s greatest joy was spending quality time with family and friends. She especially treasured traveling the world with these loved ones.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bernadette Robey; her brother, Mark Robey; and her brother-in-law, Doug Oetting.

She leaves behind her loving and caring husband of 34 years, Gary Joseph Simon; her children, Holly Hope (Tres), Rob Dill (Kellese), Stacey Holifield (Dale), Allen Simon, and Mark Simon (Nic); ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jill Oetting; her brothers, Jack Robey and Paul Robey (Jill); a large extended family who loved her deeply; and dear friends Pete and Suzanne McIntosh.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX. Immediately following the service, everyone is invited to continue celebrating Georgia’s life at the Mule Barn in Justin, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the charity of your choice.

Her extraordinary generosity and loving soul will live on through all the lives she touched.
