Frieda Lea Houlihan

Frieda Lea Houlihan 95, passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2026.

Born on February 5, 1931, in Golden, Texas, Frieda was the daughter of Lawrence and Sadie Robinson. She was united in marriage to John Joseph "Jack" Houlihan with whom she shared many happy years and built a loving family.

Frieda began her career at Republic Studios, where she met Jack. Together they owned and operated The Viking in Dallas, and later Houlihan's in Fort Worth. Her career later led her to American Airlines, where she worked until her retirement.

Frieda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Joseph "Jack" Houlihan and her cherished daughter, Kelli Houlihan.

Frieda was a devoted mother and a loving "Nonnie" whose greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Houlihan Aussicker; her son-in-law, Larry Krietzer, beloved husband of her late daughter, Kelli Houlihan; her son, Michael Houlihan and his wife, Amy Houlihan; her daughter, Tracy Lewis and her husband, Anthony Lewis; her son, Matthew Houlihan and his wife, Cynthia Houlihan; her grandchildren, Amy Sim and her husband Brandon, Connor Houlihan, Emily Houlihan, and Corsicana Smith; her great-grandchildren, William, Charlotte, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Samantha; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Although quiet by nature, Frieda possessed an extraordinary intellect and a lifelong curiosity about the world and her Creator. A devoted follower of Christ, she lived her life with quiet faith and grace.

An avid reader, she loved politics, current events, travel, and meaningful conversations.

Those who knew Frieda will remember her strength, unwavering loyalty, and sharp mind.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and grace that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are forever grateful for the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, and the example she set for all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished by her family and all whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Frieda's memory to The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association, American Kidney Fund, or the Institute for Creation Research Museum.
