Fredricka Jane Dowdy, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. Born on February 15, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was a vibrant spirit who brightened the lives of all who knew her. 

Fredricka was the daughter of Richard Stanley Nunley and Eva Marie Gibson. On February 16, 1958, she married her devoted husband, Harold E. Dowdy, Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship until his passing. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Fredricka embraced her role as a nurturing mother and grandmother with unwavering dedication. 

A talented cake decorator, Fredricka took pride in her work at Tom Thumb, where her artistic creations delighted many. Her passion for gardening reflected her nurturing nature; she found joy and solace in planting and tending to her flowers, a metaphor for the love she cultivated in her family and friendships. 

Fredricka leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Enrique) Rodriguez and Ladene M. Rodriguez, her sons, Harold E. (Teresa) Dowdy and John M. Dowdy, and a host of cherished grandchildren, including Myers Hart, Jr., John W. Hart, Layla Rodriguez, Jon R. Dowdy, Mathew Dowdy, Patsy Ingalls, Brandon Dowdy, Jennifer Rodriguez, and Daniel Rodriguez - Along with 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Harold E. Dowdy, Sr., and her mother, Eva Marie Andry. Fredricka's absence will be deeply felt, yet her spirit will continue to inspire those who loved her. 

A visitation will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller June 3rd, from 6PM-8PM. Funeral services will be held the following day - June 4th, at 10AM, offering an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate her life and share fond memories. The family warmly invites all who knew Fredricka to pay their respects and bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose love will endure in the hearts of many. 

Fredricka Jane Dowdy will be remembered not only for her talents but for her unwavering love and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
