Frederick Clark Bailey passed away at the age of 92 on May 23, 2026 at his home in

Burleson, TX after a lengthy battle with age related dementia. He was born April 16,

1934 in Columbus, MS to Horatio Leavitt Bailey II and Cornelia Katherine Bailey (nee

Morris).

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, father, and siblings H.L. Bailey III (wife

Margie) and Katherine Elizabeth Shepherd (nee Bailey). He is survived by his wife

Glenda Mae Bailey (nee Taylor); his children Frederick Clark Bailey Jr. (wife Lori),

Shelia Kay Hatch (nee Bentley), Ronald Wayne Bentley (wife Debi) and Yolanda Ann

Vargo (nee Bentley, husband Joe); 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Fred enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was subsequently stationed at NAS Dallas,

TX where he would meet Glenda, his wife of 65 years. His time as a Marine made up a

large part of his character. After being honorably discharged from the Marines in 1960,

he eventually joined Bell Helicopter as a flight mechanic and retired to his home in

Burleson on January 26, 1996 after a 32 year career. An avid sportsman, Fred enjoyed

hunting and shooting skeet. Never one to be still, he was always working, always

moving and service to others was always in the mix. Fred was a member of Cana

Church in Burleson, the Marine Corps League and the Arlington Sportsman’s Club.

A visitation will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Burleson, Tx on Monday, June 8 th

from 6 pm to 8 pm. Services at Cana Church in Burleson, Tx on Tuesday, June 9 th at 10

am with the graveside military service at Dallas-For Worth National Cemetery to follow

at 2 pm.
