Francis "Frank" Arvil Higdon, Jr.
Francis A. Higdon, Jr., 81, of Euless passed away on March 21, 2026.
He was the 6th of 14 children born September 3, 1944 to Francis & Catherine Higdon of New Haven, Kentucky.
He made a gallant effort throughout his life embracing the hard work and Catholic faith that was instilled in him from an early age while growing up on a tobacco farm.
Francis and his first wife, Margaret had five children. Years later he met Barbara, his wife of 46 years until his passing, with whom he shares three children.
He ultimately found his niche in the airline industry, settling down in DFW and retiring from Delta Airlines after 30+ years. After moments of lull, post-retirement, he picked up another job driving for Enterprise Rent-A-Car before deciding to hang it all up after 16 years.
As a member of the St. Michael community for over 45 years, Frank was a selfless servant to the church community. He was involved as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound, Prison Ministry, an Usher, as well as the Children's Choir Leader at both, Holy Family of Nazareth, Irving and St. Michael. A strong advocate for the preservation of life for the unborn. Most recently, a very cherished Greeter at the 7:30 a.m. Mass.
Frank was a simple man. Some may say he had the 'gift of gab', as he enjoyed striking up a conversation with the perfect stranger; learning about people and their story. Above all, he was proud of his Family and loved them dearly; especially watching his grandkids grow.
He fought numerous battles over the years, though utilizing his strong faith, he never gave up.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Catherine; stepmother, Valeria; former spouse, Margaret; his siblings, Maria Goretti, Jackie, Evelyn, Jimmy, Patty, Buddy, Donald, Paul, Joan; and his sons, Gregory and John.
He is survived by his faithful wife Barbara; his children, Mary, Elizabeth (Stephen), Sarah (Jesse IV), Brian (Kristen), Stephen, and Amanda; his grandkids, Jerin, Christopher, Adam, Jordan, Jessica, Desirae, Hannah, Emily, Jesse V, Simon, Genevieve, William, Gabriella, Catherine, Kylie, Lilly, and Matthew; and two great-grandkids, Callie and Isabella; he is also survived by his siblings, Charlie, Bill, Norma, Tommy; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank, to most, Uncle Mickey, to many, and Francis, to few. He was and still is a beloved Husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend.
