Fernando Gonzalez, beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and loyal brother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8th, at the age of 67,surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 11th of 1957, in McAllen TX, Fernando lived a life marked by hard work, deep compassion, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. A man of quiet strength and gentle kindness, he built a life rooted in service to others, always putting his family’s needs above his own.

For 40 years, he was a loving and faithful husband to Mary Gonzalez, their marriage a testament to enduring love and partnership. As a father, he led by example—instilling values of honesty, humility, and perseverance in his children. He was the kind of dad who showed up—early mornings, late nights, through every triumph and every struggle, always with a steady hand and an open heart.

His grandchildren knew him as a source of warmth, wisdom, and playful joy. Whether offering a patient ear or a hearty laugh, “Popo” made each child feel uniquely special and deeply loved.

Fernando worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family. No task was too difficult, and no hour too long when it came to ensuring the well-being of those he held dear. His integrity and work ethic earned the respect of all who knew him, while his generosity and humility left a lasting impact far beyond his years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, David and Bryan; his grandchildren, Veronica, Bryanna, Johnny, Bryan Jr, Savannah, and Jasmine; his siblings, Arnulfo, Charlie, Anita, Joe, Jorge, Javier, Efrain, Jaime, Connie; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we celebrate the extraordinary life of a man whose love, sacrifice, and strength shaped the lives of so many. His legacy lives on in every life he touched.
