Eutrola “Bobbie” Black of Bedford, Texas passed from this life on May 6, 2026 just two weeks shy of her 93rd birthday. She leaves behind a legacy that will last for generations through all the family and friends she touched in this life in the rural Arkansas Delta.
Born during the Great Depression, "in the Arkansas delta" she was the 4th of 8 children that survived to adulthood for parents Samuel and Dell Harpole. In her late teens, she went to live in Memphis Tennessee with of her older sisters. It was there that God set the course of her life by bringing her a man who would love and care for her for 65 years. Bobbie and Jerrold were united in marriage August 22, 1953 in Hernando, Mississippi. They were side by side until Jerrold’s death in 2018. Their life together was hard, but their life together was good because of their devotion to God and to each other. Bobbie/Grany/Mom/Aunt Bobbie found her greatest happiness in her family and many friends. She had three boys who couldn’t have asked for a better mom: Jerrold Glen and wife Drew, Carl Wayne and wife Debi, and Alan Dale and wife Vicky; sixteen grandchildren: Jamie Charbonneau, Emily Boever, Jerrold “Rob” Black, Katie Frank, Marie Egan, Domanic Black, John Black, Gemma Scarpino, Brett Black, Andrew Black, Taylor Black, Mallory Lopez, Amy Johnson, Coye Dube, Adam Johnson, and Landon Black. 45 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. The frequent calls and visits from her nieces and nephews always filled her heart and care and concerns of her friends and church family were especially welcome in the years since Jerrolds’s death. Along with the joys a long life are he extra sorrows of losing so many people in your life. She endured the loss of her husband Jerrold, her son Carl, her parents and all but one of her siblings. So many of her friends in Bedford have passed and each loss has taken a little piece of her heart with them. She took great comfort in knowing so many family and friends were waiting for her.
