Emily Dale Palmer was born November 5, 1939 in Ladonia, Texas to John Wayne McLemore & Muriel Elizabeth Erwin. She married Josh Palmer in 1956 in Gainesville, TX and moved to Fort Worth. They had 2 children: Doug Palmer and Sandra Cost

She graduated from Northside Senior High School, received a Bachelor's Degree from Texas Women’s University in 1974, and a Masters of Education from North Texas State University before devoting her life to nurturing the next generation in the Birdville School District.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, cherished daughter and sister, treasured friend, and respected teacher to many. Her life touched all that were fortunate enough to know her. She lived a life defi ned by love, loyalty, hard work, and strength.

Emily was preceded in death by her loving son: Doug Palmer, her parents John McLemore and Muriel McLemore, and sisters Glenda Jackson, Shirley Hackler, and Pat Wylie.

She is survived by: Daughter Sandra Cost, her husband John Cost; Grandchildren: Michelle and Jeremy Golightly, Brandie and Jason Montgomery, Michael Wilson and Stacie Smith.

Great-Grandchildren: Cooper, Caroline, Colby, and Caden Golightly; Ava and Allie Wilson; Shelby & Rylee Awtrey; Stryker, Lucas, and Logan Montgomery; Soon to be Great-Great Grandchild: Delaney Josephine Golightly. Along with many other loving family members and friends.

To her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was affectionately known as “Nannie”.

We know she is smiling down on all of us with her Hairspray, Lipstick, and a Margarita.

We cheer to her life and the love she gave to this world.
