Elizabeth Scott

Our beloved Nana, Elizabeth (Betty) Lamont Osborne Scott, 94, passed away on May 2, 2025.

The visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., May 7th at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 S. Main St., Keller, TX 76248 followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be private, later that day at Smithfield United Methodist Cemetery, North Richland Hills, TX.

Betty was born in Mt. Kisco, NY to Chester H. and Helen Lamont Osborne on January 15, 1931. She graduated from Beacon High School in 1949. Betty married Robert P. Scott on April 16, 1950. They had 4 children: Carol, Cheryl, (Robert) Paul, and Ronald. They resided in the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY. They later divorced in September, 1970.

After high school, she graduated from Krissler Business school in Poughkeepsie, NY. Betty worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She moved with her son, Paul, to San Jose, CA in 1979 and began working for Hewlett Packard in their accounting department. In 1989, she moved to North Richland Hills, TX and lived with her daughter, Cheryl and family.

Betty retired at age 62, yet continued to be active, enjoying time with her children and grandchildren, traveling and spending time with friends. Beginning in 2004, Betty lived in Florida and then Philadelphia, PA before returning to the Ft Worth area in 2014. She lived independently at Evergreen at Keller for several years. In August 2021, Betty moved in with her son, Ron, wife Lori, and family, as she began to decline in health.

Betty was a passionate and devoted member of the Methodist church community in every place she lived, giving generously of her time and her

talents. Betty loved attending theatre productions, visiting landmarks and museums. She traveled extensively through the United States with family and friends. She also traveled in Europe, took several cruises, the last cruise being for her 80th birthday!

Betty is preceded in death by Robert P. Scott, December 6, 2000 and Jennifer Tansey Briley, granddaughter, March 18, 2022.

Betty is survived by her 4 children; brother (John) David Osborne and sister Nancy Salinas, as well as 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
