Dr. Barry Jon Alldredge

Dr. Barry Jon Alldredge was born on October 1, 1947, in Sweetwater, Texas. He graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1966. He received a Bachelor of Science, Master’s in Business Administration, and a medical degree from Texas Tech University. Barry did his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and UT Southwestern in Dallas. He was at St Paul Hospital, in Dallas, finishing his residency when he met Faye Henson, RN. In 1977, his last year of residency, Barry and Faye started dating and were married in February 1978. They moved to Bedford and he started his internal medicine practice at HEB Hospital.

He leaves behind his wife of nearly 48 years, Faye Alldredge, and children Staci and Dr. Travis Engel, Carri Alldredge, and Blake Alldredge and wife Mandy. Barry also leaves behind seven grandchildren, including Hunter, Jaxon, Asher and Remington Alldredge, and Ryleigh, Tyler, and Wyatt Engel. Barry also leaves behind his brother, Dr. Bud Alldredge Jr and wife Sherie, along with several nieces and nephews and close, lifelong friend of the family who was like a son, Nathan Trapp, with his wife Ronda and their son Corbit.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Bud Alldredge, Sr. and his mother, Loneta Jarvis Alldredge.

He practiced medicine for 40 years before retiring. He was a long time HEB Rotarian, an Eagle Scout and a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Hurst. He loved watching the grandkids’ sports and activities and taking care of the cows, dogs, and maybe the cats.
