Dorothy Arwine Atkins

Dorothy Arwine Atkins, 96, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026 in a Weatherford hospital. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, August 18, 1930 to the late Homer and Jessie Tatum Arwine.

Dorothy attended North Side High School in Ft. Worth. She was the wife to a Ft. Worth Firefighter and spent the early years of her life raising her two daughters who were very active children at North Side School. Dorothy spent most of her early years taking the girls to athletic events and cheerleading practices, while running the household with various domestic chores in her day-to-day activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Atkins; her daughter, Cheryl Williams; and her grandson, JR McBride.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Vicki Ansley and her husband, Larry; her son-in-law, Jeff Williams; her grandson, Brandon McBride and his wife, Jade; her granddaughter, Emma and family; her great grandson, Trevor McBride and fiancée, Dekota Herbin; her brother, Bob Arwine; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the Arwine Cemetery, Hurst, Texas.
