Dorothy Hurst Anderson

Dorothy Hurst Anderson, 76, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 24, 2026. Born on August 3, 1950, in Shirley, Massachusetts, Dorothy lived a life marked by unwavering faith, devotion to family, and a heart for serving others.

Dorothy shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Neil Frank Anderson. Together they built a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories. She was the treasured daughter of Linda and Pryor Hurst and remained deeply connected to her family throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Neil; her children, Mark Anderson, Nicholas Anderson and wife Lucie, Trent Anderson and wife Leslie, and stepdaughter Melissa; her cherished grandchildren, Aneshka, Adriana, Elliette, Cooper, Reese, and step-grandson Mason. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Stricker; her brothers, Jeff Hurst and wife Laura, and Danny Hurst and wife Wendy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Hurst.

Dorothy graduated from Sierra Vista High School in Arizona in 1967 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Arizona in 1972. Her dedication to helping and encouraging others would remain a defining characteristic throughout her life.

A faithful member of First Grapevine Methodist Church for 46 years, Dorothy devoted countless hours to serving her church family. She spent five years on the church preschool program staff and, in recent years, volunteered in the church thrift shop and assisted in the church office. Her kindness, servant's heart, and steadfast faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Dorothy also enjoyed a successful career with Wells Fargo in Westlake, Texas, where she worked for 20 years as a customer service and online banking trainer. Through her professionalism, patience, and commitment to excellence, she mentored and supported many colleagues over the years.

Above all, Dorothy's greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly, offering encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love to those around her. Her warm spirit, gentle nature, and strong faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though her presence will be profoundly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her love lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, and her legacy of faith, service, and devotion will be treasured for generations to come.
