Doris Nell Nix

Doris Nell Nix passed away in the early morning hours of April 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.

Doris was a first-class mother and a devoted wife who always put her family first. She was not one for a girl’s night out—she believed wholeheartedly that her children came first, always. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, reflecting her kind and gentle spirit.

Doris found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved boat rides on the lake with her family, swinging on the porch while birdwatching, crocheting both alone and with her friends, and caring for her plants. She enjoyed cookouts with her family, sitting by the pool on hot days, and listening to good old country music.

Her greatest passion was her family, especially keeping up with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed eating Mexican food and dining out. In her younger years, Doris shared her musical talent as a singer in a band with her brothers, who played guitars. She would often sing for her children, and her beautiful voice will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Doris’s viewing will be held Thursday, April 30th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Texas. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Doris will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
