Donald Wayne Tye

Donald Wayne Tye resident of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Weatherford, Paris, and Haltom City, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026 at Huguley Hospice House of the age of 71 years.

Don was born on December 12, 1954 at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. While being raised in Haltom City, Texas he attended W.T. Francisco Elementary School, North Oaks Jr. High School and Haltom High School where he graduated with the Class of 1973.

Don was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He along with his grandmother, parents, siblings, cousins, and aunts attended many services. He often volunteered on community cleanup days and loved the church fellowship during spaghetti dinners.

Don started as a bagger in 1972 then was appointed Kroger Manager of Store #258 on the 15th of May, 1983 where he generated an outstanding profit of 5.41 percent and won over 5 awards in seven years. In 1990, he went on to work for Walmart and received Sam Waltons Excellence Award in 2004. He attended Emberson Baptist Church in Sumner, Texas. With his free time, he loved to watch and play baseball, golf, The Price is Right and western movies, especially those with John Wayne.

He is survived by his parents Weldon and Elizabeth Tye; brother Brett Tye; and sister Allison Carter, who adored him; his two daughters, who he cherished, Dana Boyden and her spouse of Powderly, Texas, and Dori McGee and her spouse of Sumner; three granddaughters; a grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
