Donald ‘Don’ Warren Pittman, 86, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 16, 2026, at his home in Burleson, Texas. He was a great father, papaw, brother, and friend who built a legacy defined by hard work, perseverance, and dedication to his family.
Don was born on July 5, 1939, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to G.W. and Ina Rhea Pittman. He spent more than 30 years with Centennial Liquor, beginning his career as a stock clerk and rising through the ranks retiring in 1991 as Vice President. In 1989, Don embarked on a second career as a small business owner when he purchased a convenience store in Keene, Texas, a venture that reflected his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
Loved ones who will miss him are his sons, Shaun Michael Pittman (Jennifer Velardi), Chris Pittman; his daughters Melissa Lee (Matt) and Jacqueline Slaughter (Kaleb), daughter-in-law Karen Pittman, brothers Buddy Lynden Pittman (Caroline), and Michael Ray Pittman (Emma). Don was a proud papaw and blessed with seven grandchildren: Justin Pittman, Jeremy Pittman, Lance Branch, Jacob Jackson, Grace Pittman, Luke Pittman, and Gage Pittman. He was also a great papaw to Aria Pittman, Payton Jackson, and Lily Branch.
Loved ones that went before him are his parents G.W. and Ina Rhea Pittman and his son, Jerry Don Pittman.
Don’s family would like to thank Jennifer Velardi for the compassionate care she gave to him in his final months.
Don’s family will honor his life in a private memorial service at a later date.
