Donald Philip Haas, born on March 7, 1942 in Perham Minnesota to Ervin and Gertrude Haas, passed away on October 15, 2026. He was a man of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, a deep, abiding love for his family and was the steady presence his family could always count on — a man whose love did not need to be loud to be felt deeply. His strength was found in his steadfast nature, his devotion to those he loved, and the life he built alongside his family.
For 60 years, Donnie shared a beautiful life and enduring love with his beloved wife, Sue. Their years together were a testament to commitment, loyalty, and a love that stood the test of time. The life they built together was one of his greatest legacies.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964 where he served for 4 years in Vietnam. Once discharged from the Navy, he began his career with AT&T In Minneapolis, Minnesota. He later transferred to Fort Worth, Texas with AT&T where he spent his career until retirement.
Donnie found joy and peace in hunting, woodworking and spending time outdoors, where he could enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. These were more than hobbies; they were a reflection of the man he was — grounded, patient, and most at home in the simple things life had to offer.
Above all, Donnie was immensely proud of his sons and grandchildren. Their accomplishments and successes brought him tremendous joy, and there was nothing more meaningful to him than watching them grow, find their way, and build lives of their own. He carried a deep love for each of them and took great pride in the family that was his greatest treasure.
To his family, he will forever be remembered as their quiet stillness of strength — a constant source of love, loyalty, and reassurance. He leaves behind a legacy not measured in words or grand gestures, but in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the love that will continue to hold them together.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the strength he gave, the memories he created, and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family forever.
He was preceded in death by his mother Gertrude Haas, his father Ervin Haas and stepmother Hazel Haas, his brothers Eugene and Duane Haas, his son Kenneth Haas and his grandson Hudson Haas.
He is survived by his wife Susan Haas, son Doug Haas and wife Ashley, grandson Hunter Haas and wife Jennifer, grandson Haydon Haas and great granddaughter Hallie Haas.
