Linda DeeAnn McKinney passed to her eternal reward on February 6, 2026, at Oakridge Alzheimer's Center in Haltom City, Tarrant County. She used her heart of love to battle this dreaded disease for nine years. DeeAnn was 74 years of age.
DeeAnn was born on the High Plains of West Texas in Lamesa on August 11, 1951. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Weldon McKinney, and children Jarrod McKinney of Bedford, TX, and Amber McKinney of Euless, TX. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Riley and Landon Farco, and Gavin McKinney. In addition, she is survived by a host of friends that she won with her most memorable smile. She was preceded by her parents Eloise Cheek and Dee Phillips.
DeeAnn excelled in her education pursuits at Lamesa High School, South Plains Junior College and Texas Tech University. She graduated from each with very high academic credentials and earned the BBA at Tech in Business Administration.
DeeAnn was so passionate in her love for others, with a most selfless spirit. She received great joy in giving and not receiving. DeeAnn was deeply committed to her Christian faith. She was totally dedicated to God, her family and her love for the marketplace. She taught in business Colleges, did medical transcript and was associated with the University of North Texas Health Sciences in Fort Worth. She won many hearts and admiration with her service and work ethic at the medical university.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the College Hill Church of Christ in North Richland Hills, TX. The services will be conducted by ministers Stephen Mead and Colby Wallis and Brady Jackson. Burial will follow on Friday, 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Idalou Cemetery, Idalou, Texas.
